Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place on Great Suffolk Street? It’s actually in a proper old warehouse building – I mean, you can tell this used to be something industrial back in the day. The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense of space that most London places just can’t offer. High ceilings, exposed brick, those big factory-style windows that let in ridiculous amounts of light. It honestly feels more like staying in a trendy mate’s flat than a typical hotel room.
The location is one of those gems that locals know about but tourists often miss. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Borough Market (and trust me, you’ll smell the coffee roasting and hear the early morning vendors setting up if you’re an early riser). Southwark Cathedral is right there too, and the whole area has this brilliant mix of old London charm and modern energy. What I really love is that you can walk to London Bridge station in about five minutes, but the street itself is surprisingly quiet – especially at night when you’d expect more noise being so central. There’s a little independent coffee shop just around the corner that opens at 7am, which honestly saved my mornings more than once.
The apartment itself is thoughtfully done – someone clearly put effort into making it feel like a real home rather than just another rental. The kitchen actually works (you’d be surprised how many places phone this in), and there’s proper counter space if you want to grab ingredients from Borough Market and cook something yourself. I particularly appreciated the little touches – decent toiletries, blackout curtains that actually block light, and a shower with proper water pressure. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to work or just want to stream something after a long day walking around. Only minor thing I’d mention is that the building entrance can be a bit tricky to find the first time – it’s one of those converted buildings where the main door isn’t super obvious from the street, but reception sorted that out quickly enough. Overall, it’s the kind of place where you actually want to hang out in the evening rather than just crash and leave early. For the price point and what you get in this part of London, it’s honestly pretty excellent.
