The entrance sits quietly on this tree-lined street between Berkeley Square and Piccadilly, and there’s something refreshingly low-key about that in an area where everything else seems to be shouting for attention.

Inside though, well, that’s where things get interesting. The whole place feels more like staying at a very well-connected friend’s London home than a traditional hotel – which actually makes sense since it started as a private members’ club. The staff genuinely seem to know their regulars (I overheard them discussing someone’s usual breakfast order), and check-in was this pleasantly informal chat rather than the usual clipboard routine. The rooms themselves have this lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake – proper antiques mixed with modern touches, and thank god, really good lighting for actually reading at night. I mean, you’d be surprised how many fancy hotels get that completely wrong.

What really won me over was how perfectly positioned everything is without feeling touristy. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Green Park tube, which connects you to anywhere you need to go, but more importantly, you’re in the thick of proper Mayfair. I’d pop out for coffee at that little place on Curzon Street, grab lunch at Shepherd Market (locals still actually eat there, not just tourists), and honestly, some evenings I’d just wander through the quiet residential streets nearby – it’s gorgeous once you get away from the main drags. The area gets pretty quiet after business hours, so if you’re someone who needs absolute silence to sleep, you’ll be happy. Parking’s basically impossible unless you’re willing to pay through the nose, but honestly, you won’t need a car here anyway. With a 9.1 rating, I can see why people keep coming back – it’s got that rare combination of being incredibly central while still feeling like a proper retreat from London’s madness.
