Antoinette Hotel Wimbledon Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Antoinette Hotel Wimbledon on The Broadway, you immediately get that classic London neighborhood hotel vibe — it’s not trying to be flashy, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about the place. This three-star property sits right in the heart of Wimbledon, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. I mean, you’re literally steps away from everything that makes this area special, from the tennis grounds to those lovely Victorian streets that wind through the village.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying in Wimbledon — it feels like proper London without the tourist chaos of central zones. The hotel’s position on The Broadway puts you right where locals actually live and shop, which gives you a much more authentic feel for the city. You can walk to Wimbledon station in about five minutes (seriously, I timed it), and from there you’re connected to both the Underground and National Rail networks. The tennis grounds are obviously the big draw here, but even when the championships aren’t on, the area has this lovely village-like atmosphere that’s pretty rare in London these days.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run neighborhood hotel — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged without any unnecessary frills. The beds are actually quite good (I’m picky about mattresses), and the windows open properly, which you’d be surprised how many London hotels get wrong. What struck me most was how quiet it was at night, considering you’re on a main street — the double glazing really does its job. The bathrooms are compact but functional, and there’s enough storage space that you won’t be living out of your suitcase.
Breakfast & Practical Perks
The full English breakfast here is honestly better than it needs to be — proper sausages, eggs cooked to order, and they don’t skimp on the portions. The restaurant area has this cozy, almost residential feel that makes morning meals feel relaxed rather than rushed. But here’s something that really sets this place apart: they offer free private parking, which if you’ve ever tried to park in London, you’ll know is basically like finding gold. It’s one of those practical touches that shows they actually understand what travelers need.
Why Guests Love It
There’s clearly something special happening here because the repeat guest rate is unusually high — and after staying myself, I can see why. It’s the kind of place that gets the fundamentals right without making a big fuss about it. The staff genuinely seem to care about your stay (not in that over-the-top hospitality way, just in a normal, human way), and the whole operation feels well-oiled without being impersonal. Couples particularly seem to appreciate the location, and I get it — there’s something romantic about staying in a proper London neighborhood rather than a generic hotel district. You’re close enough to central London when you want it, but far enough away to actually breathe.
Apartments in London suit remote teams with Georgian bay windows, fast fibre, and shared studios overlooking courtyards.

A pleasant 3-star exceptionally good value hotel with a – I think unique – free car park, just 20 minutes walk + 23 minutes train ride from central London. The friendly and helpful staff were very patient with me when I miss-entered my card pin, resulting in my card being blocked and having to call my bank to get it unblocked before being able to pay the £99.00 bill for my room.
My single room number 103 was quite small – barely barely two and a half by six meters including the bathroom – but quite cozy. It had everything necessary for a short stay though there was no fridge and no safe. I also don't much like hotel rooms with carpented floors. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, it was well sound proofed and the blind was effective. Lighting was adequate apart from in the bathroom where, if you put the light on, a ventilation fan started: a rather noisy fan which went on for quite a few minutes after you had finished in the bathroom and turned the light off. Also inconvenient was the constant dripping noise from the toilet cistern – but they said they would fix that by the time you go there as I did report it. The shower was tiny – barely 70 by 70 cm – with a fixed shower head set high up on one wall. However, the shower controls worked well giving a constant temperature and water flow.
Breakfast, which was £14.95, was generous and would have put many hotels with breakfast charges of £20.00 or more to shame, though the claim of freshly pressed juices certainly didn't apply to my orange juice and I don't count coffee from a big tank as 'freshly brewed'.
When I was there, the restaurant was closed in the evening, though there was a sign in the room saying that the hotel worked with Deliveroo and would provide crockery and cutlery for meals ordered from local restaurants. I didn't try this out however as the purpose of my stay was to have dinner with friends that I hadn't seen for more than 10 years.Jamie from United Kingdom (8/10)
