Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this place? It’s actually an apartment, not a traditional hotel – and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work so well. Apartment 4 at 48 Bishopsgate sits right in the thick of the City, and I mean *right* in it. You’re literally surrounded by those gleaming towers and the constant hum of London’s financial district, but somehow the actual apartment feels like a proper retreat from all that intensity.
The location is pretty incredible if you think about it – you’re a two-minute walk from Liverpool Street station (which, let’s be honest, is a godsend when you’re trying to get anywhere in London), and you’ve got Bank just down the road. What I really appreciated was being able to walk to places like Borough Market or even pop over to Shoreditch without dealing with the whole hotel breakfast routine. The apartment itself has that sleek, modern feel you’d expect from City Living London – they clearly know what they’re doing with these conversions. The kitchen actually works (I made proper coffee, not that instant stuff), and the bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the pillows all night.
Here’s the thing though – and this is important – it does get a bit noisy during the week. You’re in the financial district, so Monday through Friday there’s definitely street noise, especially in the mornings when everyone’s rushing to work. But oddly enough, weekends are almost eerily quiet since most of the City basically empties out. The building itself is solid though, so you’re not hearing your neighbors or anything like that. Check-in was smooth – they send you all the codes and instructions beforehand, which I actually preferred to hanging around a lobby waiting for someone to hand me a key card. The whole setup feels very… I guess professional is the word? Like they’ve figured out the kinks of running serviced apartments without making it feel impersonal. And honestly, for the price point in central London, especially considering you get a proper kitchen and living space, it’s pretty solid value. I’d definitely stay here again, particularly if I was in London for work – being able to walk to most City meetings would save a fortune on transport, and having space to spread out after a long day makes all the difference.
