Honestly, when I first walked up to this duplex on Stukeley Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the street’s pretty quiet and tucked away, which actually turned out to be one of my favorite things about staying here. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the chaos of Covent Garden Market, but once you duck down this little side street, it feels like you’ve found this secret pocket of calm in central London.

The space itself is what really sold me though. I mean, two proper bedrooms and two full bathrooms in this part of town? That’s practically unheard of, and trust me, if you’re traveling with friends or family, having that second bathroom is going to save relationships. The duplex layout gives it this homey feel that you just don’t get in regular hotel rooms – there’s actually space to spread out and live a bit. The kitchen’s small but functional (I made coffee every morning and picked up groceries from the Tesco Express on High Holborn), and the living area downstairs meant we could hang out without someone trying to nap upstairs getting annoyed. The beds are comfortable too, which honestly surprised me because so many London places seem to phone it in on mattresses.

What I loved most was how connected you feel to actual London life here. You know how some places stick you in tourist bubbles? This isn’t that. You’ll hear the occasional delivery truck in the morning – it’s Camden after all – but nothing crazy, and by evening it’s surprisingly peaceful. The walk to Covent Garden Piazza takes you past all these little pubs and coffee shops that locals actually use, not just the touristy spots. Plus you’re close enough to walk to the British Museum (maybe fifteen minutes), and the Holborn tube station is right there when you want to venture further out. I spent one evening just wandering around Bloomsbury, which feels like a completely different world from the West End madness but is basically next door. The building itself has character – those old London townhouse vibes with creaky floors that somehow make you feel more connected to the city’s history. Check-in was smooth, and the hosts were responsive when I had questions about the heating (it took me a day to figure out the radiator controls, but that’s pretty standard for these older buildings). If you’re looking for somewhere that feels like a proper London experience rather than just a place to crash between tourist activities, this duplex really delivers on that front.
