Hotel 63 Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel 63 on Bayswater Road, you immediately get that classic London townhouse vibe — it’s one of those charming Victorian buildings that just feels authentically British. The entrance is understated but welcoming, and honestly, the location hits you right away. You’re literally steps from Hyde Park, which I mean, you can’t really put a price on that kind of positioning in London. This three-star property doesn’t try to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re in Westminster Borough, so you’ve got that proper central London feel, but Bayswater has this slightly more relaxed, residential character that a lot of visitors miss. Paddington Station is just a short walk away (super handy for Heathrow Express), and you can actually stroll through Hyde Park to get to places like Oxford Street or Marble Arch. The couples who stay here absolutely rave about the location, and I get why — there’s something romantic about having the park as your backyard and still being so close to everything that matters.
Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully laid out — typical London style where every inch counts. What impressed me was how they managed to fit everything you need without it feeling cramped. The decor strikes that balance between modern comfort and traditional British charm, with decent-sized windows that let in good natural light. You know what’s nice? The beds are actually comfortable, which isn’t always a given in this price range, and the en-suite bathroom was clean and functional, if not particularly spacious.
Breakfast and Dining
The breakfast setup here is honestly better than I expected for a three-star place. They do both continental and buffet options, which gives you some flexibility depending on whether you’re rushing out to catch a tour or taking your time. The continental spread has all the basics done well — fresh pastries, decent coffee, and proper British breakfast items if you want them. The dining area gets good morning light, and there’s usually a nice mix of business travelers and tourists, so the atmosphere feels lively but not chaotic.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Hotel 63 isn’t trying to compete with the high-end hotels in Mayfair, and that’s exactly why it works so well. You’re getting solid value in an absolutely prime location — I mean, when couples are rating the location 9.6 out of 10, that tells you something. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay smooth, and there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on getting the fundamentals right rather than overwhelming you with unnecessary extras. If you want to be in the heart of London without paying West End prices, and you appreciate being able to escape to Hyde Park whenever the city gets overwhelming, this place just makes sense.

Quiet, clean, good location, nice staff and building. Non dairy milk alternatives were good to have. Would have preferred oat milk (more environmentally friendly and healthy)

Location and the neighbourhood
Mairead from Ireland (8/10)
Lovely building looking out over Hyde Park. There are a number of tubes nearby and Lancaster Gate being the nearest. The no. 94 bus brings you from Charles II Street and drops you across the road. The breakfast was good and the dining room and kitchen were clean and comfortable.

The hotel was lovely, set in a beautiful historic townhouse. Its charming atmosphere added to the experience. Additionally, it is conveniently located close to public transportation, making it easy to get around.
Barbara from United States (9/10)
The location is terrific—less than half a block from a tube station and a quick walk to Paddington station. My single room was small but very well organized with good storage. It was very clean and I was surprised there was an iron, board and hairdryer. London was damp and cold during my visit and I appreciated how cosy and warm the room was. Breakfast was basic but fine for me. I was in a back room so I did not get street noise. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
