Mermaid Suite Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Mermaid Suite Hotel on Blenheim Street, you’d honestly be forgiven for missing it at first glance — it’s tucked into this elegant Georgian terrace that feels more like a private residence than a hotel. The entrance is understated in that particularly British way, but once you step inside, there’s something immediately welcoming about the place. It’s a three-star property, sure, but the staff genuinely seem to remember guests’ names, which probably explains why so many people keep coming back.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re literally in the heart of London‘s West End, just off Oxford Street, but Blenheim Street itself is surprisingly quiet. I mean, you can walk to Bond Street tube in about three minutes, and you’re practically next door to Selfridges — but you’re not dealing with the chaos of being right on the main drag. Couples absolutely love it here (they’ve rated the location 9.4, which honestly makes sense), and I think it’s because you get that romantic London feeling without the tourist crowds right outside your window.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact — let’s be honest about London hotel sizes — but cleverly designed with everything you actually need. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and there’s decent storage space, which matters when you’re living out of a suitcase. What I really appreciated was the attention to detail: proper blackout curtains (essential for those bright summer mornings), good water pressure in the shower, and reliable WiFi throughout. The decor is contemporary without trying too hard, sort of a modern take on classic British style.
Daily Rhythms
Breakfast happens in a cozy dining area that feels more like someone’s front parlor than a hotel restaurant. It’s nothing fancy — continental style with some hot options — but the coffee is actually good, and the staff will chat with you about what to see that day if you’re up for it. The whole morning routine feels relaxed, which sets a nice tone before heading out into the London madness. There’s no spa or gym here, but honestly, with Hyde Park just a few minutes’ walk away, you’ve got better exercise options than most hotel fitness centers anyway.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about Mermaid Suite Hotel — it’s got this loyal following of repeat guests, and after staying there, I totally get why. It’s not trying to be something it’s not; it’s just a solid, well-run hotel in an absolutely brilliant location. The value proposition is spot-on for London, especially when you factor in that location score of 9.5. You’re paying for the address and the reliability, and both deliver. If you want bells and whistles, look elsewhere, but if you want a comfortable base for exploring London with staff who actually care about your stay, this place hits the mark perfectly.
Hotels in London span royal parks, riverside wharfs, and Victorian arcades lined with tea salons.

Reviews of Mermaid Suite Hotel
Georgios from Cyprus (8/10)
The personnel at the reception were more than kind, more than helpful! As there was an underground strike at the day of our departure they did everything so that we reached on time and with convenience at Heathrow. A huge thank you!
Benhur from Turkey (7/10)
Great location, decent price. Reception is very friendly (but open daytime) very early or late hour arrival/departures require pre-arrangement – but easy to do). Some rooms are at 4th/5th floor with narrow stairs, so may be difficult to carry luggages. But overall very decent, clean place at a very nice location.
